Everything In Order

Sooo, 4th of July wasn’t so bad like I planned (food wise). If you couldn’t tell from my last blog, I obviously wanted to enjoy the same foods as everyone else. BUT I DIDN’T! Although I have been eating far less, I don’t feel like I have been watching what I’ve been eating near as much as before. When I was on WW it was all about eating low cal/low fat/high fiber and never worrying about carbs or anything else. Now after doing that for 6 months, I’m in that mindset. I find myself eating reduced fat crackers, low fat/sugar oatmeal, ect. People always say carbs are the enemy, but I feel like the low cal/low fat really works best for me. After all, I haven’t been to the gym in a week and still lost 6 pounds this past week like this. I guess it really is what floats your boat.

As for the blog title, It really represents my life at this moment. I am working a lot, slowly losing ANDDDD (drumroll please…) my boyfriend of 3 years and I just got approved for our first apartment!!! We are thrilled. I have that feeling of power…you know, that one you get whenever your life seems to be in order. You feel like dieting and exercise is so easy because it just falls into place with the rest of your solid life. I love it!

Anyways…I’ll keep this one short!

Fourth of July and Incredible Salad Dressing

So its a rainy 4th here in Houston and veryyyyyy uneventful. I babysit some cousins earlier today. I’m proud of myself because usually when I babysit, their mom leaves either pizza money or really unhealthy foods like fried chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese to make for the little ones. Well, today was fish sticks and the reason for being proud is because knowing that the food would be unhealthy, I packed a salad and yogurt to have for lunch. Typically I would just munch on whatever was in the pantry or what I made for them. And for those who love their salads covered in dressing, but have a hard time finding a moderately healthy one that still has flavor, TRY THIS!!! https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10052&productId=361559&catalogId=10002&krypto=QJrbAudPd0vzXUGByeatog%3D%3D&ddkey=http:ProductDisplay

It is Kraft’s new Extra Virgin Olive Oil Greek Salad Dressing. It is incredible and with only 5 grams of fat per serving, it beats out most others. Best of all though, it is flavorful! Shocking! Just try it, believe me…Even though there are some of the new ones out there from Kraft (that Free line or whatever) which have 0 fat, this EVOO one has NO high fructose corn syurp! Most of the ingredients are natural and the first ingredient is water unlike most out there. I’d personally rather consume 5 extra grams of fat than put something in my body that it will refuse to process! …But that’s just me.

And as for 4th of July, I really want some of the average Independence Day foods. Potato salad, fried chicken, chips, breads, fries…you know, you know. Pray for me!! lol I’ve been drinking a ton of water today so I stay full. I got a 32 oz water bottle from WalMart the other day and cool thing about it is that it has the measurements on the bottle. I’ve been drinking 3 full bottles a day recently…Also hope not to ruin the healthy eating with beer tonight. Ugh, why are America’s hoildays all so food related? Whatever, stay strong!!!

Have a good one!

New to Buddy Slim

Hey guys…It’s my first night on buddy slim, I have visited before, but failed to ever register. After a dinner out with some friends for a birthday tonight, I got in the scale and saw 190. Never have I broken the 190 mark and the realization of being 10 pounds away from 200 pounds shocked me into realization. Something has to be done. I graduated from high school this past year and work full time at a salon and day spa. During the year, I have a very set schedule which allows for more coordinated gym/eating time, but with a crazy summer schedule, I have been falling off lately.

My mom joined Weight Watchers at the beginning of the year. I never joined, but followed the point system pretty well for a good 3 months. I lost nearly 15 pounds and really should give it another shot. I still work out about 2 to 3 times a week at a gym, but my sporadic and  bad eating catch up and cancel out the exercise. I loved the compliments I got when I lost the first 15 and don’t know why I have such a hard time staying on the WW program when it is so easy.

I mainly joined buddy slim to help motivate. When I first started WW, my boyfriend and mom were both trying to make themselves healthier and slimmer, but now, I seem to be the only one still semi-dedicated. At the time, having them around were enough motivation. Now that they are off the bandwagon so to speak, I feel like a whole network of people trying to achieve the same thing I am will help keep me on track. I am officially 190 as of 7/1 and hope to get down to 120 eventually (which is a healthy weight for my 5′2 height). Before starting WW, I weighted in at about 185 and got down to about 172. Just having that weight off made me look like a completely different person, and I hope to achieve even greater.

Thanks for the time and hopefully this will be a huge step forward!
